yep, there's a reason other airlines get rid of their aircraft with lots of cycles, increased maintenance being one of them. Allegiant's view is that with their way of only flying the aircraft a few days per week the plane has years of service left in it since they will not get the number of cycles a regular airline would put on it. But as they expand operations and the flight schedule grows for all the new cities the aircraft may get more flights per week than in years past. And they have parked a few MD-80's due to consistent maintenance failures causing excessive unreliability, are robbing parts from the parked ones to service the others.
