Definitely miss the flying I used to do on the Shuttle. There are times where I wish I'd have gone back. Miss the west coast. I know I would have been furloughed again in the spring of '09 had I gone back.

I had my standing bid in for SEA on 9/11. Was hoping to get there within a year until that morning. Would probably be based in SFO now. No idea where I'd sit in seniority.

Anyone have any insight?

Currently top 10% in a captain's seat (in domicile) and drive to work.

With all the projected growth (737s) wondering, and will to the day I retire, if I made a mistake.

Thanks,

Assuming you are at SWA. Got hired in late 2002/early 2003, and top 10% on the left seat? I'd say you're doing damn good. Other than the wide-body flying you are missing out on, which really is a whole different ball of wax, imho you didn't make a mistake. The guys who left UPS, FedEx, and SWA in the late 90s, early 2000, to come to United were the ones who made the mistake. I still wonder I made the mistake of not jumping trying to jump to FedEx after my first furlough.
