You are allowed to upgrade a fare that doesn't warrant first/business by submitting an upgrade request form to global travel with the amount you are willing to pay out of pocket for the upgraded fare. Then they upgrade it through their system for you, and the difference comes out of your check. You'd just have to get the ticket you want though them first as a coach ticket.
