Yet they wonder where high paying jobs are going. Buy a full fair ticket once in awhile. Advise friends and neighbors how spending just a bit more on that ticket to Europe has a lasting effect on good paying jobs. Down with NAI, Allegiant, Spirit, and all other disgraceful carriers. Have some self respect and go to a carrier or job that pays you what your worth.
Good luck with that.... you are in the industry so your awareness is hypersensitive. 90% of Americans don't even think about the airlines until they need to go visit grandma in Germany and then they go on Expedia and look for the cheapest fare. There will always be a market for people to fly across country for cheaper than the cab ride from manhattan to JFK. It's really our govt's job to make sure they operate safely and in compliance with the laws that all the companies are required to observe.
Airlines realize this and that is the reason they are built to obtain and retain frequent fliers as they pay the bills. At DAL it's something like 15% of customers pay over 85% of all the airlines revenue.
