Still doesn't change the fact that Captain America made a rookie mistake that led to him putting a perfectly good airplane in the dirt. All that skill and training you hold up didn't prevent that. He's human. So are you and I and every other pilot on this planet. THAT is the point. Pride goeth before the fall.
