Obama's FAA...at the time led by his appointee...a former UNION CHIEF. Don't look for that in a Cruz administration. This ruling changed regs that were decades old. Part of Obama's pro-labor legacy. One for the history books. And yes, the lobby money from Fred and UPS was huge, as was the republican congressional opposition. Deals/compromises were made.
All I did was state a fact which you blasted me for accusing me of making things up. So I followed up w more nothing but quoted law and you still want to keep spinning. Read again, it required specific changes (look up the hugely bipartisan Act too if you want more info) as well as a "Deadline" and if you think Babbitt made these changes without Congress making law requiring him to do so, not Lol, not funny..well I disagree w you this was a great Obama accomplishment. No comprise was needed, it was in final form on time by Obama's FAA and he had it changed after not just signing what his FAA appointee gave him.
I am not taking a political side other than pointing out law followed by the fact our cargo brothers were carved out of a final draft law. Keep cheering on while most ALPA pilots know what happened. I said "Congressional mandate", you said I made that up and was "BS"...maybe you should read these items for yourself more carefully before you speak or comment. Or we can keep doing more Leap classes every 2 years until you change, ha! I cut and pasted the law for you and you still want to blast away from your Rocky Mtn High Horse.

You can give credit to Obama and Boozing Babbitt; good for you. I give it solely to the families of the Colgan Air Crash Victims that lobbied their reps to pass the quoted act which caused change.

Also, I made no comment on supporting anyone in politics.
