No comprise was needed, it was in final form on time by Obama's FAA and he had it changed after not just signing what his FAA appointee gave him.
I am not taking a political side other than pointing out law followed by the fact our cargo brothers were carved out of a final draft law. Keep cheering on while most ALPA pilots know what happened. I said "Congressional mandate", you said I made that up and was "BS"...maybe you should read these items for yourself more carefully before you speak or comment. Or we can keep doing more Leap classes every 2 years until you change, ha! I cut and pasted the law for you and you still want to blast away from your Rocky Mtn High Horse.

You can give credit to Obama and Boozing Babbitt; good for you. I give it solely to the families of the Colgan Air Crash Victims that lobbied their reps to pass the quoted act which caused change.

Also, I made no comment on supporting anyone in politics.

The Colgan crash was a catalyst, yes...but ALPA had been lobbying for science based regulations for years...well before Colgan. When the POTUS appoints a former head of ALPA to run the FAA, you KNOW what side he is on. It was just a matter of time. BTW, the FAA issues rulings and regulations without Congressional mandates every day. It's their purpose. The Law you copied and pasted is not FAR 117. FAR 117, like all FARs, are rules prescribed by the FAA governing all aviation activities in the United States.. Have a good day. Oh, and I loved the Leap class.
