I think the point is, who is going to provide any feed to Qatar flights from ATL-Doha? If you look at Qatar's list of code share partners, American is the only one with any presence in ATL, and I can't imagine that they will provide enough passengers to make it a profitable route for Qatar. If Qatar cared about making any money, they would be flying CLT-Doha where they actually have a structure in place to feed the flight. This ATL flight is all about trying to stick a finger in Delta's eye.
