The Telex 850s work great in the 737. Once the speed is below 300 kts the noise on the exposed ear isn't too bad.

The newest 900s have hot mic and it works great. Very quiet flight deck with hot mic, 850s, and 900 nose vortex generators. Hot mic retrofit for older planes being researched

Another option on standard audio panels if the Captain is game is the rubber band trick to hold intercom switch active.

Besides 850s I've heard good things about the DC Pro X headset. Has Bluetooth audio for listening to music on your deadheads.....
