A lot of displacements at UAL right now BECAUSE OF THE PILOT INTERGRATION(it will happen here too for years). He going back to domestic flying, as a CA, because he wants to be close to his young family most of the week. Jan 00' UAL hire might be SLI equivalent to CAL Sept 05' hire.
I think your UAL/cal ratio is correct. Your buddy is a CAL pilot. Their upgrade was running 3 years before the merger...then when their SLI was done, a whole bunch more CAL guys were able to bid in to the left seat but are now displacing back as the equipment fences go away.
I'm talking about the native UAL CA upgrade, which is right at Jan '00 for SFO A320 - which is almost identical to ours at Dec '99.
