The new pay scale seems like an improvement. What are the current upgrade times for TX bases?

The new pay scale is a bump and while the $58k/yr seems low you may consider for those who start as copilots with 1200 hrs in 2-3 years would have the 2500 hours (in house mins) for captain, putting them at $66k or so. I'd say the large factor driving the pilots is movement as you could move seats and airframes within the company fairly quickly to get the pay up. As for the schedule SIC's must be on a 12-3 for their first year then it is 10-5 thereafter. All captains hired are now on a 10-5 starting. Home-basing in the Midwest and only commuting to an airplane on duty days if necessary seem to be some of the larger pros.
Texas (Dallas/ftw) has the most movement of any base therefore typically if you had the time you could upgrade quickly.
