As someone that used to believe in picketing I don't anymore. IMO it only muddies the group's public image. For some reason this country now vilifies unions and picketing only makes it worse especially in the eyes of our passengers of which many bought their ticket with debt. The only news story I heard when the southwest pilots recently picketed was a half truth about how much they make and it framed them as greedy.
Picketing is a great unity builder so maybe that makes it worth it but maybe there's another way we can show each other and management that we are a unified force and will not cave for a substandard contract. Any ideas?
