I worked at Cape for a year, three years ago. This place is completely and utterly clueless. They are so short pilots is ridiculous. I think they are hiring so many FOs because that's all they can get. Hire them all and hope most stay around once they can upgrade.
Also the stigma with the lifers is true. It was sad how many would look at you like you were an idiot to leave for a regional
Finally, I call serious BS on the cat claiming 70k+ at Cape. Even with incentive pay, no way.
Preach. Again, it's all jealousy my friend. They think they have a good gig. "I can live in Ft. Leonardwood, MO and fly from 5am until 7pm 5 out of 7 days a week and make around 50k first year. It's so worth it man. Come fly a 40 year old, piston airplane on the same route 6 times a day. So worth it."
Leaving for the regionals and flying a modern jet is the best thing you can do here.
