Dunno if it's true, but here's to hoping it is. Attrition might finally be putting a squeeze on them.
Ha! Let them call or threaten. Guess they should just hire people with no internal recommendations then...because I'd venture a guess that most, if not all, new hires are actively looking to jump. I sure as hell would be if I was them! Should they call me, I'll flat out tell them why people are leaving. It should come as no surprise to them...high fives don't pay bills.
First off, circumstances change, if I change my mind after I got hired here...too damn bad. If they thought of us as anything other than a line item in their balance sheet, we'd have an industry leading/ average agreement already.
Perhaps these pilots came here understanding we're a growing airline with opportunities? Then, once here, they realized those opportunities may take far too long to come to fruition. That said, those same people probably came here expecting to have a new deal, commiserate our job and peers. It's clear now that this agreement 'may' happen somewhere in the future; but why wait when others with the appropriate agreement are actively hiring now.
Anyone under 40 or those with less than 2 years longevity that isn't looking to get out is probably doing themselves a disservice in the long run. Once you get north of 40, you may be better off riding this craphole out or maybe not so much. Obviously each person has their cutoff for staying/ going and I'm sure most of us have actively done the math on where that line is.
So to close the ramble...I have zero sympathy for the clown factory. People are doing what's best for each individual and leaving (hopefully in droves) to better paying gigs, Miramar is reaping what they've sown.
To borrow from the LCAL people...FUPM!
