Why don't you guys just ask the PSA union, screen name 272922. He's a regular on this forum and is accustomed to addressing these kinds of issues right here openly, but you have to ask him. He is on record here saying the union will back you for a variety of issues.
I lost faith in the regional unions years ago. Not having any sort of language regarding out of base reserve is just another kicker. To advise someone to not do something because it isn't in the contract is not smart. If it happened to be in the contract then whatever, light all the torches you want. An arbitrator will not side with you on that one. The "union" has already agreed that it's OK to have out of base hot reserve, so that's that, they won't protect you in your discipline hearing.Originally Posted by FirstClass

I just find it interesting where some guys will dig in and not budge. If I were on reserve then fine, send me out of base, but pay me and put me up. Probably save money on hotels that way.
