I am curious as to how effective picketing really is? Why not just go for a strike vote? I am somewhat new here and do not have applications out anywhere else, but after the earnings call and blatant disrespect from our CEO I have changed my mind and will be applying elsewhere.

Earlier today, your Spirit MEC responded in a press release to comments made by our CEO, Robert Fornaro, on the April 26 earnings call. He stated that Spirit Airlines was in the lowest tier of carriers and implied that Spirit’s pilots should be compensated at that level. Your MEC and your Negotiating Committee unequivocally reject this argument and point to Spirit’s industry-leading profits as a better indicator of our “tier.”
We are not “discount” pilots—and we will not be compensated as if we are. We will continue to demand industry-standard compensation that recognizes our contributions to this company’s success.
I encourage you to share this release on your social media outlets and with your fellow pilots.
