It's still sitting in there. Presently 4 hours till sign in. Maybe I don't get the coverage ladder but if they don't have someone they wish to use (no conflict) wouldn't they still cover it with someone that can operate it on time...even if it's with conflict?
I agree with the previous post, maybe more behind the curtain that is yet to reveal itself, but I sure am learning a lot today!!
Loads and loads of open rotations in ATL and LAX 717B today and the last few days too.
I wouldn't wish that job on anyone.
I have seen them cancel flights before doing a with conflict. It is extremely rare. Rare enough that I don't even bother putting the slip in no matter how short we are.
