Why have two bands, or three? Why not one band instead? If you can make the argument for 2 or 3 bands, you can certainly extend it to only one big band.
I've been on the 777 a while and I have never heard any 777 pilots saying there should -not- be pay banding, or they should get more, or pizz on the junior guys, or anything like that. In fact, I think we would all love to have the 767ER pay 777 pay, and most of us would bid it, just for the better European layover cities!
We ALL would LOVE to see Delta get MORE 777's and keep the whales too. We all understand how few 'top paying jobs' we have here at DL vs AA and UAL. We have been here the longest, seen the most, lost the most money in the pay cuts and lost the most retirement money as well, with the least time remaining to make it up.
We get it. So please don't try to turn this into a 'Super Premium Guys won't like it' argument. I would fully support pay banding, especially as I watch our 747 fleet going away. I would hope you would fully support replacing my lost retirement fund.
