Not trying to split hairs, just like to see things in print. For example, a friend of mine was just given grief by a scheduler who insisted that 15 minutes was the limit. He disagreed and then spoke with a supervisor, who sided with him. We need to keep contractual stuff free from individual interpretation, whether its in print or based on past practice.
I never answer my phone, I always let it go to VM and I then return their call within a reasonable amount of time. This used to give you a chance to check the assignment for contractual legality and to verify your status on FIFO, but that little gem disappeared. Never had anyone blast me for that.
I can't seem to find it. I thought it was in the contract. But, I am not really sure how long you have to call them back..... Does union have any actual guidance on this?
