So where did you get the statistic that 50% of new hires drop mil leave? Considering only about half the new hires are mil to begin with, that would be 100% of all mil hired drop leave.

I assume you meant 50% of all mil hired which makes sense since that is roughly the separated/retired ratio. Of course most of the guys who separated will take some amount of mil leave, and DAL knows this in advance. Sure, there is a DB here and there that pulls some long term unexpected BS, but to blame mil leave for any portion of DALs staffing problem is 100% b-effing-s.

DAL decided when to start hiring, how many to hire, and at what pace. Staffing problems are brought on by management, not new hires who are up front about military commitments. I'm not reading anything into this, you're just wrong.
