"If " you pay the premium they the benefit is tax free. So our FedEx LTD income is taxable and our Union (old FPA?) policy income is tax free.

SSDI is only 80% taxable in our income bracket.

Also ... everybody need to know that FedEx will opt-out of paying as Primary insurer 2 years after you become eligible for Medicare. Ask me in a few weeks how that worked out for me recently. I'm hoping for the best.
