I guess everyone's situation is different, but it is difficult to see why a senior 74 FO would take 76 CA at our rates. Schedule goes to pot, very little raise, seat locked for 3 years, when you could have waited for the 74 and gotten it before that 3 years, thus possibly making more if considering scheduling opportunities, and efficiencies. The break even point on the 76 upgrade makes little sense unless 74 protracts out 4+ years over the 76.
747 upgrades could easily come to a screeching halt. I am taking the classic advice of never passing up an upgrade. If things go Tango Uniform here and I cannot get on with Purple, Brown or a legacy (been there, done that) then wide-body PIC makes one quite marketable for Asian contract jobs.
