747 upgrades could easily come to a screeching halt. I am taking the classic advice of never passing up an upgrade. If things go Tango Uniform here and I cannot get on with Purple, Brown or a legacy (been there, done that) then wide-body PIC makes one quite marketable for Asian contract jobs.
Like you said, to each their own.
When one upgrades from do they lateral over to the CA payscale at the same years longevity (i.e. 747 FO@ 5 to 767 CA@5) or do they start out at the first year pay on the CA scale?
