I don't disagree with your position. In fact, the degree to which newcomers to any country should assimilate is a great discussion to be enjoyed over a few beverages. Although I am very pro immigration and multiculturalism, I do think that a basic understanding of the dominant language spoken should be attempted by newcomers to a country.
With respect, if that's your position as to the english speakers, there was an error with your logic statement. Because you used the "and/or" it suggests that you would be in favor of deporting non-english speaking US citizens (which I would find problematic).
