I find it extremely interesting they are going to begin to install ADS-B receivers for our planes. This is required by 2020, at the absolute latest, as part of the NextGen ATC system. If you had zero chance of flying any of these past 2018 *** would you even bother doing this? That would make absolutely no sense at all.
The TA'ing of a lot of sections was interesting after this past weeks negotiating session. I realize these sections were things not related to pay, necessarily, but still shows the company is showing up in good faith to me. The coffee meet and greet with the MEC said they plan on meeting at least once a month after July. That is certainly a hell of a lot more often than they ever did in the past.
As Billyho stated, ultimately, the game plan would for PDT to take over a lot of our flying. Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how much of a collasal train wreck that has become. Everytime I'm in PHL I see these garbage -145s at a gate barely ever flying. Their plan also is predicated on new hires which, let's face it, is a serious struggle for most regionals and, in particular, the AA WO's. Not many buy into the "flow".
Parker can ***** all be wants about how expensive we are, but at the end of the day we do a pretty damn good job in a crazy ass part of the country. All said and done we are still way cheaper than doing it themselves and AA are complete junkies for regional lift.
By the time 2018 rolls around I think you would be pretty ridiculous to just get rid of a 700 some pilot group giving you what you deperately want - cheaper lift than mainline. Time will tell, but I would be pretty damn surprised, especially if no one is in any position to fill our void.
Finally, I cannot imagine why MP would accept the CP job at a place that is shutting down. He has been through the turmoil of ComAir. *** would you willingly deal with that BS again? I've talked to him enough and he is very well respected by many pilots here. Call me crazy, but I trust him. He seems to be a pilots guy.
I don't see whiskey flying going anywhere... keep looking to further your career but i wouldn't sori about being out of a job right now. There just aren't any pilots that will work at pdt for our crap qol...
