Reserve living in base is infinitely preferable to commuting to reserve. Reserve is no fun when you're the low man on the totem pole, but if the company can put more people in the 145 to push you up seniority-wise your QOL will improve rapidly.
A word of caution: trends indicate most new hires are walking away from the job offer unless they get DFW 175. That means your upward movement can be very slow as there will be few coming in below you.
Thanks for the tip! Yeah I see how that could affect my upward movement since most people do want the E175... I just don't know if it's worth waiting for the 175 when I can already get a seniority number and start immediately on the 145.
