Another thing to consider when trying to figure out the seats.... I use AA and sometimes WN to commute and for both of them the Y7 could mean 7 open or 30+ open. For those two carriers at least, you won't see a number higher than 7, even if there are many more open seats. When I see the 7 on AA I look at the seat map on their main booking site. Of course not as accurate as you want but can give you an idea if it's wide open. And even when calling the listing number for WN they will only tell you if it has 7 or more...
