I agree that management was in a pinch and needed the regionals to play ball so the merger could be completed.
Now management is going back on their word and not honoring contracts. But the bind they are in is that nobody would buy a regional. At least not in the current form. I can see AA owning the aircraft and then farming out the pilots/mechanics/dispatchers...
Basically selling the management aspect of the regionals. But all materials will be owned by AA.
PSA/PDT can be sold for much less. Then it's up to the management company to staff and operate. But no one is going to buy PSA and 100 regional jets for a 5 year contract term.
