There are FOs here at RAH getting on with United after 2 or 3 years here. Many many captains are moving to mainline. Of the last 10 guys I flew with, 6 of them are interviewing and/or have the job at UA, AA, and JB. I wouldn't call that career stagnation.
FOs getting on at United after 2 or 3 years? Haha...OK. Unless they were interns, had alot of previous experience, or can check certain demographic boxes, no. And the only capts I've heard getting legacy jobs lately are check airmen. But the regional of your choice has little to do with stagnation, the job market does.
