Depends on what the trade-off is before I accept it. 717s from C2012 and the demise of the 50 seater far outweighed the small gains in 76 seaters. The past few years a tremendous amount of flying has been returned to Delta Air Lines pilots and that trend is continuing.
As mentioned in the Chairman's letter, "We see significant opportunities to leverage changes the company needs into changes we need that far outweigh any real or perceived negatives."

If you thought the 717s weren't coming and the 50 seaters weren't dying on their own, take a look at what happened last fall with the 737s and 190s. It had absolutely nothing, zero, zilch, and nada to do with whether or not the contract went through. That was management's way of trying to get a few more votes for it from people like yourself that bite off on that.
That being said, I'm in strong agreement with the Chairman's letter over the weekend.
