I'm not a CAL guy, but I'd guess same as any other airline...about one hour before departure. Also, I don't think it matters what state you live in

If the company is deadheading you, you'll have FAR duty day limitations. If you commute on your "own" time, although the commute isn't covered by FARs. You do need to show up to work rested and ready to perform. Lots of guys commute the same day and show up tired. It's not the right thing to do, but it happens. I'm not sure how you would do that to Guam, so you'd be early or REALLY tired when you got there.
