So while pilots are away from their home base on TDY are they staying at hotels paid for by the company or do they have crew houses for them to crash in? I'd say it would be kind of inefficient to pay monthly rent for a place at a home base if one is away on TDY for more than half of the time as well.
Hotels. For most of the home base guys, the reason they take it is because they live somewhere already and aren't willing to move.
