Never revised app after being hired at JB - so never granted an interview (pilot). I was offered a position as a DAL based air safety investigator for SWA that I turned down (prior NTSB experience as well as academic credentials to support that). Considered it, as well as trying for a flight ops slot, as I'm a DFW guy and my wife was fighting what could have been a terminal illness. Instead, I stayed the course. Not so much a career move as much as a family issue. Time is the only thing you can never get back. Other ways to make money. Other jobs. Time is finite. And I was spending a great deal of it commuting. Which is why I was considering going back to corporate as well.
Just for the record I had an app in at SWA before B6. As previously discussed, my lack of recency at the time probably killed my chances at Delta and AA as well. Internals at both, no failures ever, no enforcement actions. And well now, look at that... 800+ hours in an Airbus in last 17 months. So recency is not an issue anymore. Given the market, would I be competitive? Yes. However, I don't have any active apps - or plans to - anywhere.
Never said I had an interview at SWA. Hypothetical. Location, location, location. Maybe mixing me up with someone else?
