Did you know that a Pilot is one of the only professions around that seriously gets screwed out of overtime? Where else can you work for three days away from family and get paid for only 15 hours of block? Airlines do a great way of hiding things like this and definitely use it to their advantage. Unfortunately we are not business people and ironically elect other non-business professionals to negotiate on our behalf for serious issues like pay. I am all for the profession but there are tons of things that people coming into it do not know or have misconceptions about. This ultimately hurts us all by not cutting into the supply for the growing demand. A union's sole purpose is to limit supply but for some reason is unable to strike due to court decisions and ultimately gets laughed at by the company. If a Union isn't helping and a company isn't budging while profits and revenues continue to rise, where do we turn to? Ourselves? Educate others considering entry? Sit on a forum and cry like a ***** to someone who is trying to educate others? Who knows. One more thing........Pinnacle still sucks.
