I don't think the OP understands the words he's using. He sounds like a college freshman using the big words from his poli-sci class. Protectionism has LITERALLY nothing to do with this argument.
If you wanted to use your own definition of essentially "pulling the ladder up behind us," that isn't true here either. We would all welcome you in the airline, cargo, charter, etc world. You just have to put in the requisite experience to get there. No shortcuts in safety. If you don't believe that GA pilots are more dangerous, I did a very broad google search and on the first page were 3 or 4 articles from local papers about pilots and their passengers killed in small GA aircraft...from May alone.
