When I came to F9 I had high hopes, but the reality is that management is implementing regional tactics, in short we are racing to the bottom rather than the top.
I'm willing to bet that management drags LOA67 as long as possible or will simply ignore in lieu of contract negotiations. The new contract will be in place no earlier than 4 years at best, regardless of what we try as a pilot group. The regionals have proven that you can have 8 years worth of talk with no progress. You see management not really negotiating at the moment.
The only hope would be to be sold to a major carrier, which I believe it's extremely unlikely. A merger with Spirt will yield same results as current. If you as a pilot at F9 are happy to get Spirit current wages, then you are selling yourself short.
Maybe I'm missing something, but why would anyone stay here unless super senior?? Frontier could be an awesome career airline, but it just isn't and I do see it becoming that. Not a pessimist, but a realist.
Anyone who believed that Indigo was going to play fair and negotiate in good faith for our next contract needs a reality check. Every action F9 has taken over the last two years is evidence of their lack of respect for our labor group and now the RLA process. The LOA 67 stalling is also frustrating but not surprising. Hopefully if the company refuses to submit a proposal this week we can get the arbitration ball rolling. Don't take the 3rd rate pilot comment personally, Nides would stand in a room full of Chuck Yaegers and say the same thing. For Indigo it's just the way they do business.
I'd say 80% of our pilots under 40 are ready to leave for other airlines if the phone rings. If like myself you are pursuing other options your opportunity will come. In the meantime don't stress and enjoy the schedule flexibility and Airbus legroom.
