I'm curious why one would question the accounts of PHX TRACON being more than a little concerned over an emergency aircraft climbing toward their approach corridor....apparently enough to break other aircraft off said approaches in order to preserve separation.
EFCA-Engine Failure Clean up Altitude. It's a bleed over from the 80. Most of us that flew the 80 still use that terminology.
