I actually agree with you that UA is trying to greatly reduce their reliance on regional feed, which includes OO as is evident in the fact that our 700s aren't getting renewed. This means greater opportunities for much higher paying jobs at mainline carriers, which is a good thing overall for the profession.
OTOH, This doesn't mean the skies are about to begin falling at SkyWest as you continuously allude to in your posts.
