If this company is seriously going after your crews for drinking coffee at the gate area you have more problems than you think.
There ain't no way I would remotely entertain a company that can't trust the pilots to safely and responsibly drink coffee in a gate area. The same people they are supposed to trust to fly 40 plus passengers around at 8 to 9 miles above the earth.
It seems clearly obvious if you go to Envoy you seriously place yourself at risk from idiotic discipline that may adversely affect any hopes to making it to a LCC or a legacy.
To commute or not commute will be the least of your problems then.
Most other less draconian regionals currently are getting what appears to be 45 to 90 new hires a month with no flow at all. Yet even with the magic flow what is envoy pulling in?
The number of new hires showing up to Envoy and the attitude of guys bailing if they don't get the equipment they want is a true testament of the utter failure of leadership at the airline. Just an absolute disaster.
8-9 miles? How many of your airplanes fly over 42,000'?
