I have too, Two of the big four actually, and I disagree. And when you throw in the abysmal performance of a lot of the regionals wearing their colors it gets even worse. Some of Allegiant's issues may be unique, obviously, and they do have problems just like every other airline. But their business model is working and the company is growing at a consistent 20% or so with high numbers of completion factors.
But if they want to fix their pilot problem they need to get their contract done so pilots won't have to leave because of the terrible commuting schedules and sub-par work rules even compared to the regionals in some things.
I left G4 last year for a "big 4". I declared 3 emergencies last year and not one was at my current employer. You're right about the unique part. I don't know of another airline that has as many engine failures/shutdowns as G4 does, percentage wise.
