Please tell me that the cockpits aren't as contentious as these threads. I've held both CAL and UAL on a pedestal for a while. The combination of these airlines (from the outside) seems like a great place to be. I truly hope that my "Target" airline is not/will not become what US Air and AWA became....

No the flight deck isn't anything like this. Been here a short while now and I love every minute of it. It is truly a great place to work. It's good to know the history. It will serve you well when talking to legacy pilots from both sides. Nod your head and smile and sympathize with them. Many have gone through hell and back in their careers. I pray I never do. In the end most of them are excited to see new guys and will tell you as much. Don't let this web board discourage you at all. Like I said it is a wonderful place to be right now.
