I think you guys are really not understanding what I am saying. Maybe ALL CAPS would be better?
Nowhere have I said that new hires will upgrade in 2.5 years, I did not. And in fact, some new hires will never upgrade to captain. Never. Either they do not have the desire or the ability to upgrade. Or, like the recent four hired by Delta, they are no longer Spirit employees.
But, to arbitrarily say new hires today will categorically, definitely, absolutely upgrade in 5+ like I'm reading on here from some of you guys is also disingenuous.
Let me state this again, for the last time: we do NOT know what will happen tomorrow, next month, next year or ten years down the line. I have a buddy who was at AirTran, was told he was going to upgrade after a certain period, and guess what? SWA purchased AirTran and now guess what his expected upgrade time is? What kind of upgrade table are they telling new hires at FedEx or Delta? Guess what? That didn't pan out either. You don't know what will happen. How many made career decisions on Sep 10th, 2001 and saw them through?
So, for you guys with the crystal ball, please let me know three things: when will we get a contract, who will win the Super Bowl next year and when will Apple release an iCar?
