I think you are correct. This isn't in the contract. But, there isn't anything that says you can't do it either. Navy vs. AF philosophy....I've done it, it does happen, though rarely. It's more a needs of the service creative scheduling than anything. If the crew desk gets caught in a pinch it's amazing what they can think up.
