There is a reason why they don't hit up senior guys. We wouldn't tolerate it. Give to charity. Be generous. But, Delta Cares? BS.
The hard sell is utter BS. I don't have a problem with presenting a company approved charity, but requiring new hires to contribute is just wrong. And make no doubt about it; if you are a new hire, sitting in a room of new hires, told that 100% of new hires have done this since Methusala, being watched by management -- this is a requirement. If Delta Cares, then why not allocate some portion of their $6B of profits to cover this cause instead of bleeding hourly employees?
For those about to go to indoc -- this has been going on since at least 2014, probably longer. I consider myself somewhat resistant to hard sells such as this one but in this case I felt it prudent to keep my head low, contribute, go directly to my hotel, and cancel. Just remember, this would not happen during indoc unless management sanctioned it. They don't only sanction this, they promote it. Enjoy your 1st taste of what management really thinks of the pilot group.
