And you can call in fatigued at any time. As long as it's not predicted. I was fully rested when I started my FDP and good to go for the day. I can't predict whether I'll be fatigued or not at the end of it.
There is a FAA LOI that states that, essentially, you can be reassigned as much as the company would like up to your FDP max. They queried the setting brake and being done scenario but determined if your CBA states that the company has up to an hour to reassign you, it is legal per 117.
