Good morning! As of the time of this post, I have been a commercial ASEL pilot for exactly one week. I am flat broke from obtaining the commercial. I have a lot of my friends say that the CFI is done mostly on your own. How would you recommend I start preparing/training for my CFI on the cheap while I repay my debt from my commercial?
Do whatever you need to do to start getting paid -- usually, that's the CFI of course. You've put in the big money; the CFI is small change comparatively. Places paying salary to CFIs now, higher-than-ever hourly wages, etc. Pay for the initial and you can often get the CFII covered, and MEI possibly. But get the initial ASAP before you forget how to do a lazy 8!
