I've Jumped a bunch as a commuter and have no problems with the policy and what not but I have a general question.

I'm trying to non rev my wife for the first time and we are traveling not for work purposes (lucky enough to get a week off somehow). Can I jumpseat on a carrier that my wife non revving...but I am not (aka I bought her an ID90 ticket and I just want to jumpseat)? I kind of get the sticky situation were I might bump a guy trying to get to/from work (as Its happened to me more than once by a non uniformed guy, one of which was non business related).

Is this a don't be that guy situation.....or is this part for the course? Cool....or just buy my own ID90 (at $150)....would seem stupid that I would get bumped off a flight....with an open jumpseat....but full in the back.
