Other than a COD with a full load of pax, the E-2 would be the worst possible aircraft to break a cable with. Climbing out from those overhead hatches after ditching.....don't even want to think about it. Can't believe they were able to climb away again. Thank God for the ground effect over the waves and some great piloting skills. They deserve "Sully style" recognition.
