Then you haven't been around very long. AA held off against scope longer than anyone. Before bankrupcty all they had for dual class RJs were 47 CRJ700s at Eagle. Delta was the first to give up 70 seat and then 76 seat scope (also 50 seat jet scope if I remember correctly). Continental had 275 E145s for only 3 hubs and United lost the 70 seat scope in bankruptcy. AA is only hell bent on putting all their new 76 seat RJs in the system to catch up to Delta and United. After few more years AA will start to replace 50 seat flying back in house as well, its just that Delta and United are years ahead bc of when they merged and AA has a bunch of 50 seat aircraft contracts that were already in place at the time of the merger.
