As a guy who started out in the caravan let me bring up a real consideration. What are your long term career aspirations. You need two things to really move forward. The most important is multi-engine time. Then PIC time. Time in the caravan is of limited value to your career. You will always be limited in your opportunities when moving up from the caravan. 3 years at a regional and 500 hours pic in a fan jet and you can do what you want in the future. As hard as it might be to make that sacrafice now, try doing it in 5 years with two kids and a mortgage. Be careful making a short term decision that is attractive now that could hobble you for years in the future.
On the other hand, I have done very well flying the Caravan and had a very good QOL.
It would not be wrong to start out in the caravan, but it will be limiting.
